TMS Stein's Backup is a simple-to-use backup program for Microsoft Windows operating systems designed to backup data and files based on directory structure. Once configured it allows selective backups to be performed easily on all or on a subset of pre-configured sections. Up to 100 sections can be configured and plain text descriptions may be used to describe the various backup sections. Backup sections can be grouped in four tabs and structured under a number of self-defined headers.

Based on the simple layout and protected by secure administrative layer, day-to-day backups can therefore be performed safely and easily even by less experienced users.

Configuration is fully menu driven giving access to simple-to-configure and well documented configuration options. It utilises the Microsoft® Robust File Copy Utility as the core copying module providing secure and robust copying and mirroring functionality. The advanced 'combo backup' feature combines two subsequent backup sections to one allowing two backup actions to always be performed in sequence. Single sections can be reversed with a click turning them from backup to restore and visa versa. Backup progress is always written to screen as well as to the log file which can be reviewed easily.
